How to Paint Polka Dot Nails

Polka Dot nails Art Step by Step

Polka dot nails are super fun and easy to do. Moms can impress their little girls with these, teens and tweens love trying new nail art and if you're going for a retro look to go with your dress, these can totally put your look together. The best part? They couldn't be easier. 

What You Need

• Base coat
• Polish in any color for entire nails
• Polish for polka dots
• Top coat
• Saran wrap
• Toothpick

  

 1. Apply 2 coats of pink polish on all fingers except ring finger. Apply mint polish on your ring finger.

 2. With dip a toothpick in the mint polish and create a line of dots beginning at the nail bed along the middle of your finger towards the end of the nails. Then create lines of dots parallel to the dotted line you’ve just created until you get to the side of the nail. Repaet to fill the other half of the nail. This technique creates an accurate polka dot pattern. Repeat on each nail already painted in pink polish.

3. Repeat step 2 but with pink polish on mint painted nail.

4. Let your nails dry for at least 5 minutes to let polka dots set before applying the top coat. 

EXTRA TIP: The main trick to flawless polka dot nails is getting the surface of your manicure absolutely even. The dots will create bumps so you’ll need 2 or more layers of top coat to smooth them out.
